In the rocking chair

While Hazel is very good about going to sleep, she usually hollars once or twice for a bedside visit. I wrap her up snug in a blanket and sing her a song in the rocking chair my mommy rocked me in. If the song includes the word hand, she reaches for my hand. If the song mentions a kiss, she holds up her head for a kiss. Often she'll caress my arm or stroke my face - all very endearing until suddenly her finger is up my nose!
And for baby book purposes, the songs I sing most often are Hush Little Baby, Stewball, Seven Golden Daffodils, Michael Row the Boat Ashore, and Fly Me To the Moon. Yep, she's going to enjoy folk music.
