Lingering at the dinner table

I've read that some toddlers don't like to sit still for mealtimes but instead take a few bites and want to get down and play. While I'm glad Hazel will sit politely long enough to eat a good-sized meal, we might be training her a bit too well perhaps. When she wraps up her spoon and fork in a napkin and asks us to sing Rockabye Baby while she swings them back and forth, we should probably wrap up dinnertime and move on to playtime.
