World Forestry Center

We met Grandma Kitty & Grandpa Don in Portland two weekends ago, on their way back from participating in vintage auto racing. The zoo was out, as it was crowded with folks celebrating an elephant's first birthday, so we went to the World Forestry Center across the parking lot. Not very crowded and a pretty interesting place to visit. We recommend it. If you ask Hazel what we saw there, she'll answer "a tractor that lifts trees" and "a factory where they make stinky water." That would be a tree feller and a paper factory.
I couldn't figure out the straps on my life jacket, but even with the dangerous rapids and no paddles, we both made it safely back to shore in our raft.

Daddy called Hazel a "Thomas Driver," which tickled her pink. Everything the rest of the day was train this and train that - we drove our train truck and ate train food, etc... She was a little disappointed that the controls didn't actually move - looks like she's driving though, doesn't it?
