Production reports

Several months ago, when Hazel was having trouble falling asleep, she'd call Daddy in to talk to her about "something un-interesting" so she'd get bored and fall asleep. The problem was that even if Daddy picked something boring like the federal tax code, our little curious one still managed to find any and all subjects interesting after all and sleep was further delayed.
After setting up the afore mentioned Hazel Dazel Candy Factory, one of these supposed boring chats was the first "production report." Now Daddy has to present a factory production report every night before bed. There are several candy lines on which to report; I'll try to remember them all. Hazel's company makes chocolate Easter bunnies, peppermints, M&M's, Reese's Pieces, Nerds, gumdrops, jelly beans, lollipops, Zots (for me), and the occasional licorice wheel. Daddy reports on how many pounds, individual pieces or boxes were made on each line. They also discuss problems at the plant, like power outages, failed equipment, accidents with forklifts, or just wrong colors - like meaning to make red, white and blue peppermints for July 4th, but accidentally mixing the red and blue dye and making purple peppermints by mistake. Distribution is also discussed, as Hazel and Daddy ordered 4 new delivery trucks around mid-May. They're red with the company name in purple lettering on the side. The first trucks were delivered with manual transmissions, and Hazel wanted "electric" (automatic) transmissions, so the trucks had to go back and have those changed out. Recently, she's been taking custom orders from Disneyland (packaging specific princess colors of gumdrops), Jimmy Johnson (blue, yellow and white jelly beans which she apparently delivered to her favorite NASCAR driver personally), and tonight they made some red, black and yellow candy for Mickey Mouse. Most of the info is thought up by Daddy, of course, but Hazel loves all the details and has many of her own ideas to fuel both of their imaginations.
Before we joined Daddy in Alaska, he had to phone in his reports every night. These pictures are of Hazel writing down the production numbers, with Daddy on speaker phone. In the last photo, she's excited because there was record production on one of the lines. Record production is taken very seriously.
